Disgusted 'Cause My Hatch Star Busted

Y'all,

I was a bit suspicious that all the grime on my 300td was the only thing holding certain parts together, and when I removed my hatch star in order to clay/buff/wax in that area (I already had the interior panel off in order to take care of other things), the star and ring decided to part ways. Pot metal + small cross-section + 23 years = poor integrity.

Maybe I'm not searching with the right terms, but I can't find the hatch star on the Fastlane site. What terms should I be searching with? What's the best place to get a decent one? Uber-quality isn't that important, as the car ain't that purty to begin with.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn (considering my double-stick tape options)

I thought I had one of these pigeon-holed. Let me know if interested. It is in good shape from what I can tell. Actually in better shape than the one on my wagon......

I run with just the star...no ring. It's the original Mercedes Logo.

My old camera died a few weeks ago, and I'm still on my learning curve with this new Olympus, so I was playing. I can't believe it won't date stamp my photo......
Many many folks here have helped me out. An opportunity to do the same is a blessing.......
OK, back to sarcastic-mode.......

It is date stamped, just digitally (data embedded in the image file) instead of permanently visible on the picture.

You are correct sir. I just usually like to see the date on my MB pics. Kind of an obvious date-stamp time-line kind of thing.
It was funny shopping for a camera, cause most folks want the most mega-pixels they can get, and I'm telling them it needs to have a 640 X 480 setting. Gee, I wonder why? I know I could resize on here, but it is just easier not to have to......

To find your MB star part, pull up your car, year and model, on the buy parts link above, or any other online parts store. After your vehicle is listed, enter "emblem" in the keyword box. I had trouble finding it, too!

I polished it today and will ship it out tomorrow. I was tempted to swap it with the one already on my wagon. It's chrome is in far better shape than the wagon chrome.....
