2 odd questions

Why are 116 chassis windshield wipers configured the way thay are?

and, where can a guy obtain a larger die cast or plastic model of my SD?

ebay.de for the latter

TheDon 01-21-2007 09:56 PM

Because they are?

I know that, silly!

but what function is it to have the wipers come from the passengerside? was it a design sacrifice or is this another E-code thing?

Got,

I wondered that too, why the wipers wipe all the way down on the passenger side and not the drivers side. Seems to me there would be better driver vision if the wipers were reversed.

AND, I've always wondere why the drivers side wiper makes the complete swipe and the passengers side one makes the same swipe, just to half the distance. Makes that passengers wiper seem redundant. I'm going to try with ONE wiper and experiment with different wiper lengths...just for something to do.

Hey, while we're on the topic of wipers. in a Euro 116 with headlight wipers and squirters, are the headlight squirted and wiped in unison with the windshield wipers, or are they independant systems with seperate switches?

Could it have been designed with right drive in mind, and they just kept the same configuration????

That little Ford is too cute!

Why don't Americans take care of their cars like that? It'd be torn up with a dent on every corner by the time it was 7 years-old here.
