602 cylinder head needed
Does anyone have at least one good (no cracks) one for sale? Probably will be needing two eventually.

The 333k mile 2.5 turbo engine has a cracked head. Talked to the machine shop today and he found an indication at the #5 injector opening. I'd about forgotten how these aluminum heads are bad to crack if mistreated over heated.

AFAIK, the 602 is not prone to cracks..........hmmm

It must have ran hot somewhere along the line.

This was the proverbial argument on the 603 #14 heads. If they run hot.........they crack.
If the 602 can crack when run hot, then, I suppose that any newer 603 head.........17, or 22........can suffer the same fate.........don't you think? |

Does injector opening mean not in the combustion chamber? Maybe someone muscled a prechamber into or out of the head causing the crack.
Initially I thought you were going to build a V10 Sixto 93 300SD 3.0 |

lol - I'd like to have the block to build a v10.
I'll try to post pics when I get the head back. Unfortunately, the 2.5 turbo I picked up for cheap is more than likely going to need a head. The coolant reservoir looks bad and the car is sporting a brand new radiator. I purchased it knowing it probably needed a head though. The funny thing about it though is that the car runs out good and does not overheat/smoke on start up.
