Little "rusts"? More than one? Under the driver seat panel?

At least he did not photograph it as night was settling in. Then it becones slight dent in rear quarter panel on ebay. This guy is not really too bad. He infers it is a parts car and it is.

I agree with Barry. He's better than a lot. I also noticed the fuel tank door has "diesel" and an X written on it in light orange marker (or grease pen, or something). At least he's smart enough to do that. Looks like a good parter to me.

Tank filler tube may be screwed up need to check if it leaks. I suppose a body shop would charge you 1000 to 2000 dollars to do the repair proper. Changing the fuel tank is doable but somewhat labor intensive especially the last time I did it which was outside in 10 degree F weather (never again) on my 1977 300D.

Regards Tom

That thing needs much more than a couple of new exterior panels. I'm guessing 3000 to fix it without doing any cosmetic work. Making it look right will bring the bill to 4000 or beyond.

That thing was rear-ended. The trunk and panels look very much like the 300SD that we just got rid of for well under $100 due to similar damage. Notice that there are no pictures of the trunk interior. There is sure to be damage to the supporting sheet metal.

Here's how you fix this, in case you're thinking my off-the-cuff estimate is way off:

Put the car on a rack and attach the rear bumper to a ram. Pull the car straight, measuring the undercarriage to see when the rear of the trunk is in the right place. Cut out all of the bent metal within the trunk and the underside of the car in the rear and weld in new metal. The bent and re-bent metal will not do the same job a second time. Up to here is the "without cosmetic work" part. Next cut out the bent outer sheet metal and replace those. Now it's time for the bondo (if required) and paint.

What could this mean? "Yes is answer to your question if your question is the obvious one." Is the question, "Is this in a junkyard?"

Too bad...that was probably a pretty nice looking car before it was hit.

I'd love to turn one of my 79 300CD non turbo cars into a turbo car with that as a parts car, and sell off the rest of the car piece by piece to everyone here. Thinking about it seriously...So who would want to buy what parts from me? If I get it for like $500.00 plus s+h I'd be happy to atleast make back $250.00 selling parts. ANyone interested in any parts?

A good frame shop could probably pull that out in a couple of hours. Then it's just cosmetic after that. It could be a good driver.

Actually, the way Mercedes designs their crumple zones, I could have that pulled in about 30 minutes. the quarters would need some love but I could probably even do it without having to remove anything but the rear windshield, for fear of breaking it. And of course re-aligning the trunk lid
