Who likes the 126 SD with White exterior?

I have a deal on a 83ish 300SD that has been sitting for 4 years... it's clean on the inside, but a bit of mildew on the paint, and some light rust. on the doors... anyway, the car looks like a nice wife car, but it's WHITE with Blue MB tex interior. how do they look all cleaned up??? anybody like or dislike this color? since it has some surface rust, and cracks in the paint, I may repaint it, maybe a nice green... who knows. opinions? Pictures of owners' white SD's? thanks!
John

I like white 126s but I prefer white over the lighter gray cladding of the 86-up 126s than the darker gray cladding of the early cars. The contrast looks too 70s Detroit to me.

Green over blue is an... uhh... interesting combo. Diamond blue as offered in 86 might go better with blue tex.

I don't have one yet but as soon as I can afford one
it will be white, hopefully with tan interior.
I don't like blue.

Louis.

I, like Sixto prefer the later model 126 in white with the light gray body cladding. Also I like the later body cladding in general because it's flat instead of ribbed like the earlier cars. In fact, white is my favorite color in the 126 both coupe and sedan from 86 forward. If I had a white 300SD W126 now i would try to find a wrecked later model 300SE in white so I could switch out the bumpers and cladding. Trouble is, the breakers don't like to sell parts off of a perfectly good door, they want you to buy the whole door.

I wouldn't try to paint the car a different color. And i wouldn't want another MB with ANY rust issues at all, but that's just me.

I remember a few years back we had a member in Atlanta with a white SD, with a blood-red interior. It was an imaculate car but the interior reminded me of a whorehouse, not that I have ever seen the inside, or even the outside, of one.

Personally, I can't take the S class in white, no matter which model. Just looks too much like a white elephant.

I suppose the W140 is probably the best of them in white, but even that vehicle looks too big with the color. The contrasting cladding helps.

But, color is a personal choice. Doesn't matter how much I dislike it........just how much you like it.

my 83 rustbucket parts car has nice light grey mbtex interior that will go into it if I get the car... but that blue dash... not worth changing THAT out. Maybe I will do some vinyl paint to match the grey interior...
the car has a short tach amp. not the tall one like my 82 has, and the car has 1 and 2 positon switches for seat setting memory. nice. but white/white cladding. whooie!

If that car has memory settings for the seats i don't think it has the original doors. Or something along those lines. And no 126 car that old came from Germany wearing all white. Someone made a mistake.

really? hmm.
perhaps a junkyard upgrade interior? and the P.O. may have painted the cladding...
if it's not factory, then the memory buttons won't work... pooh.
the dash wood is all missing or damaged... the becker radio is more modern than my 82 had, the tape slot is on top, and the the lcd is longer... could this be an 86 with the 617 in it? perhaps an 85? the owner did not know what year it was, and I did not look at the door panel.
well, for free, it at least will make a nice parts car.
John
