1984 300DT transmision slipping
 

My transmision started slipping when shifting into 3rd gear. Doesn't do it all the time, but I'm affraid it going to get worse. A friend said to change the tranny oil and filter and maybe it would correct itself, but after doing this today its still slipping. Any ideas of what I should check before I have it rebuilt or find a replacement?:confused:

It's probably not slipping, but flaring. A vacuum problem somewhere.
somebody here should be able to help you chase it down...don't worry, not major.

Thanks, I'll start looking these over and see if I can find the problem.

Found the loose vacumn hose that was causing the problem shortly after getting home from work. Thanks for all your help. :)
