1984 300SD- Have a small leak out the front seal on my power steering pump. The oil is being slinged off by the pulley. Is it a DIY repair or is it time for a rebuild unit? Pump works find, no squeals. Inquiring minds would like to know!!!

Cheaper and much less work to find a used pump to swap out.

A new front seal is only a few dollars. It's simple to change if you have a puller for the pulley.

My experience says to do something else. I have purhased three used pumps. All leakers. The only gain is that I have a core to send in without pulling the one on the car.
