Euro v8 diesel
I had once seen a pic of a Mercedes v8 diesel but couldnt find any information on it.I assume its a euro ,does anyone know anything about such a engine?

Google it, 420CDI. 300HP or so and 540 ft lbs or torque at 1800 RPM (hahahah, that's a hilariously big chunk of torque). Probably 20 mpg at least in the city too.

Diesels are best as inline engines.....

Just my opinion.....I think that Diesels are best when in inline configuration! I realize that "V" engines are necessary to fit under the hood of today's cars.....just think that they pose less problems as inline engines..... SB Forced Induction has posted a nice cutaway of the V8 diesel.....note the plate type inter-cooler and what appears to be unit (type) fuel injectors.....

Well, the inline configuration certainly makes it a bit easier to work on! Look at that thing! You'd have to take half of it apart to get to any component. RT
