Waaaay too Easy
This 84 that I picked up on Tues. PO insisted it had a bad trans. I looked under the rear and found a bad axle. just crawled under to change out the axle, and when my eyes adjusted, found that the 6 allen bolts had come loose and seperated . And...both axle were fairly new. I bolted the axle back together, and went for a spin around the block. Trans shifts smooth and on time. great power, and rides like a dream. Life Is Good .

Good job! Now since you don't need that axle you found at the boneyard, how much are you going to sell it now?
I am going to replace the boots on mine this week. One of them split open so I don't know the condition of the joint until I take it apart. So if it is bad , I may need one.
