Is it ok to use a transmission stop leak product

While under my son's 1980 300d the other day, in between loosing my religion over a few bolts, I noticed a slight leak of trans fluid at the trans/engine seal. Is there a recommended transmission stop leak that will help stop it. Is it recommended to even use a stop leak. Is there any chance it can hurt the trans. Thanks RAY M.

No. Stop leak products can make things worse.

Thanks Do you think a outer seal of some sort (epoxy or epoxy puddy or something else could help hold back the leak.

If you're leaking between the engine and transmission, you can't even see the real leak. Not that adding something like epoxy putty would help even if you could, of course.

Its only going to get worse. Get the real problem fixed - replace the faulty seal.
