1985 300TDT 273kmi:
I have noticed diesel fuel dripping what I hope to be the fuel tank's vent but I am not sure. There is a rubber opening behind the left rear wheel well where the fuel is leaking. I did fill the tank a couple days ago but is down to 3/4 tank and still dripping slightly. If it is the vent leaking I assume it is due to spring time temperature fluctuations. Anyone familiar with this. Thanks for your time, Alec. |

This may seem like an irrelevant question, but was your car oufitted with the old OKI mobile phone? Mine was, and the phone was attached to the thin panel just aft of the fuel tank. The screws that held the phone onto the panel were rubbing up against the fuel tank, presumably since 1984, and finally wore completely through. I ran the tank below this level, and gummed it up with J-B Weld. No problems since...
