think i need a new starter

does anyone know where i could find some info on replacing or fixing my starter, ive charged the batter and everything, i get nothing at all when i turn the key

some times now the glow plug light dont wanna light up on the dash

Search the forum, there are lots of posts on starter replacement. However, if you are having problems with the glow plug light coming on, I'd suspect the ignition switch and not the starter. Have you tried jumping the starter using the box on the passenger fender well.

I agree it doesn't sounds like a starter problem if you GP light doesn't come on.

Most local parts stores can test your starter, but you have to pull it off the car and take it in.

Agree with BIOdiesel, test GPs with OHM meter.

i tried to jump the starter, nothing, glow plug light came on every time this time around

im gona have to take it off and test it, where is the starter?, i see something under the turbo, that it?

Yes under the turbo. Two main bolts have to be accessed from behind and alongside the transmission using about 3' of extensions and allen sockets. You'll need a big breaker bar. They are usually very tight. Do you have a good ground to the chassis and engine? Is your battery fully charged? Is there any clicking sound at all? Have you tried tapping on the starter?
