I picked up a hand held remote starter. Attached to closest to front and closest to rear of the three at the junction box. A simple test will tell you for sure. To start, I would turn key for a GP cycle, plenty of time to get under hood, then, with the wire out of the way of course, press button.

Volts don't kill you, amps do. You can have 10,000 volts from a spark plug go through your fingers and end up with no more than bruised knuckles (not that we have that problem ) Don't mess with your 100 amp battery, that will burn your flesh from the inside out. Usually it doesn't become a problem, like life threatening, because current is mostly traveling through the metal, and what little might travel through your hand is just in one finger and out the other, not through anything important like your chest.

"It's ok to touch hot wires as long as you are not grounded."

I hope that some kid doesn't read this, and get hurt or killed. Alternating current at 60 cycles is very dangerous, and can kill within seconds because it will cause a irregular heartbeat.

2 phase a/c???

That must be some crazy electrical system if someone has "two phase" service at a home. Meaning the two circuits are 90 dgrees apart, relative to electrical time. Maybe it's really a split "single phase" service.

I am sure he is talking about split single phase standard home service. a lot of "electricians" call it two phase, to distinguish it from the 3 phase commercial service.

the only way a 12volt battery could hurt you other than dropping it on you, would be to be holding a wrench that shorted it out, OUCH that hurts. UNLESS you were chained to a pole and standing in a bucket of water that was grounded to the battery, and then had the positive side jammed into you. or brushed against your wet skin, a'la Lethal wepon III (II?) torture scene.

On a 123 the junction box on the passenger side wheel well with a lead coming from battery, there are three screws, contact #1 and #3. For photo, you'll need my e-mail address r58m@hotmail.com This info is in the maintenence manual and serrvice manual.
