270-290-300 diesel turbo advice needed.
Is there a fairly late model Merc diesel around, 270 - 290 - 300 size, that is turbo-charged but will work well with NO electrical wizardry involved & still develop a sensible amount of horsepower? MUST have an in-line pump as this is most suitable for biodiesel running.

The last non-electronic MB turbo-diesel(OM603.971) in the USA was the S350D in 1995.
That engine(OM603.970) was also used in 1990-91 in the W126 chassis. The 300D 2.5 turbo(1990-93) was from the same engine family..

The 270 and 290 are computer controlled and need electricity to operate.
The 270 uses common rail injection and the 290 has a rotary pump. |
