Im fairly certain thats a TV commercial.

That's hilarious; the Germans always make fun of the Dutch: they blog there autobahn pulling "caravans" with there under powered cars underway to there holiday destination.

Photoshop TIME!

BioPOWER 02-16-2007 05:48 PM

I was about to do some Photoshop. ;)
Looks good without the trim.

One advantage of working at a web / graphics design company. :D

Brown 280 sedan, with and without trim:

It appears to be going faster without the trim.

I'm convinced, its getting shaved.

Nice. That made me feel a little better about our spiritless friend...the 240D. ;)

I was reading a book today at books a million called The Complete History of Mercedes Benz

I was looking for W123 stuff and found a pic of a W123 wagen the caption read something like this.

"The W123 240TD was Mercedes Slowest cars offered during this time but it was favoured by taxi drivers for its durability"

I prefer the trim...

I have surprised myself, but I like the wagon without the trim. For looks only. In real life I need the trim for all the door smashers out there.....

Here's a real 123 without the trim. It's been repainted so he also had the trim removed. Only tricky part is the trunk...

Personally, I think it's OK to remove it provided your somewhat modernizing your car. But if you're keeping it original looking, of course the trim has to stay.

The trim actually covers a 3rd crease/line that runs the length of the car. Without the trim the doors would look layered.

blacked out ++

Whiskeydan 02-17-2007 02:13 PM

Before pic. I'm not sure I like the silver color. Suggestions?

Little dog don't care for the wheels. :D

So far all the emblems and trim are off. I'll try to post pics along the way.

Maybe not. I'm having trouble posting a pic. When I resize then upload I get "invalid file" msg. Never had this problem before.

Try again, different system.

TheDon 02-17-2007 02:37 PM

Why not add some suicide doors to the rear.. That would be bad ass

Whiskeydan 02-17-2007 02:42 PM

I'm not that ambitious. Changing color is bad (ass) enough.
