Parting out 300SD...help

As you all know, I totaled my 85 300SD last week and have decided to part it out to recoup some of my investment.

My question is how much would certain things like and engine and tranny be worth (185,000) miles, interior(very good)

I have a forum member interested in the interior and haven't a clue what to sell it for or ship it, etc...

IS there a guide or reference for such items?

Thanks

I priced an 82 300SD engine with 155k miles two years ago. The asking then was $1200. That was a CA yard. Trans? A rebuilts exchange will sell for $1500, some places less.
Don't know the value of yours, but maybe that will give you some reference. Might call a local yard for some prices.

Thanks. I figured that I could get at least $1000.00-1500.00 for the engine and tranny.

I could also sell the interior. Does $400.00 for the interior sound fair? I don't wanna make a killing, just trying too be fair to a fellow forum member.

Four hundred sounds like a good buy, depending on condition, etc. Lots of work to remove, but you will find out some interesting new stuff about the MB cars when you get into it that deep.
The SD interior parts are a bit rare on the used market. Lots of call for some of the small stuff, like the door parts, handles, and so on. But to sell the entire interior at one time would be a good move on your part. Get it over with and put the $ into your next project.

Interior parts

I am looking for the console wood that holds the window switches. Possibly the switches also.

i know i have written a few how-to's for removing interior parts. Do a search using my username and "dash" or "wood" and see what comes up. Its not that hard at all, theres just a sequence of events that has to be followed or you will murder the wood.

I'm looking for a radiator for my 83 300 CD. Do you have one and any pictures?

Go to www.car-part.com to price parts. You'll see the whole range of prices anything might bring.
