w124 300d Turbo 603 misses a little when started

Hi guys,
My 603 engine misses just a bit when I first start. My glows are on about 60 seconds before the relay turns off so it's definitely getting a good glow and it's not super cold this morning in Mid Missouri. I'd say 40 F or so. But the same has happened at around 55 to 60 degrees F. This seems not right to me. All 6 glow plugs measure ok (.8 ohms to 1 ohm each). I replaced the 2 bad ones (one open circuit the other 15 ohms). It's much better since I did that but man it's just not instantly smooth like I'd have hoped for. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Nick

Is that from the relay...

where the wires begin or the plugs directly??
Double check the Ohm scale is zeroed, the last I remember the FM- 0.6 Ohm is a healthy plug. Also, store brand (other than Bosch or Beru) might not be best in these engines.

check for air

Hi,
I had the same issues. After replacing the lift pump and bypassing the fuel heater even cold starts are instantly perfect (nearly no smoke)
After a minute or so little smoke is visible and at 800-1000 rpm i have such misses. The prefilter is collecting air and it is the time when this air is reaching the IP.
Air causes misses and idle smoke!

Greets Tom
