I'll bet even money the source of the sound is the rear sway bar link before suspecting all the heavy-duty mounts. I've replaced the sway-bar links three times to only one time for the motor & tranny mounts. Seems the sway bar link fails quickly once the shocks age or weaken.
"They are easy to check out. Pull them off and move the pivoting ends. If they flop around, are easily moved, or the rubber booties are missing it's time for new ones."

I have that same thumping in the right rear of the TE. I replaced the links on the sway bar, but still have the noise. Must be a rubber bushing on one of the links that holds the axle in place.
