ok guys again,

154 and 254 will appear as "Tobacco" in VIN verification.

I beg to disagree. I have the original name plate that has info of the first owner (my grandpa) and there it says 154, which is correct, MB tex Palomino.

Chedeng, are you sure you saw "155" on the radiator support? That shouldn't be there. The only place the color code can be seen is on the original build tag from the first owner.

Anyway, here's another chart to compare your car's interior to:

JJ Products Color Chart

The reason Palomino is 134 is because there were several versions. Since the 2nd section starts from 1979, and used the old type of Palomino, then they used 134. On mine it's 154.

Saddle is 1993-present.

Here's a shot this morning as MBeige requested.
I don't know why but for some reason, it appears to be lighter compared from last night's shot. You'll also notice that it is lighter than the door panel at the background, but believe it or not they are all exactly the same color. That's why I really need to know whether it is Cream or Cream-Beige because I only wanted to change the driver side bottom cushion cover which is already bad and still match the rest. I can't afford to buy the whole kit for the entire interior to match everything.

It looks like 155 to me. Creme beige would definitely be more red than your interior. That is why I said to take pics in the sun, because the flash ruins the colors. Look at my signature for my 300D, the interior pics at night with the flash made it look all so fake! One last thing you can do is go to the World Upholstery website and ask for a free sample of their interior colors so you can order the correct one.

EPC stands for the Electronic Parts Catalog, the official Mercedes-Benz parts catalog. Here is some other reference information for the MB Tex (Imitation Leather) colors on the W123 300D:

Code 103, Tobacco, up to 9/79
Code 104, Bamboo, up to 9/79
Code 105, Parchment, up to 9/79
Code 134, Date, 9/79 to end of 1982
Code 135, Cream, 9/79 to end of 1982
Code 136, Olive, 9/79 to end of 1982
Code 154, Date, 1983 to 1985
Code 155, Cream, 1983 to 1985
Code 156, Olive, 1983 to 1985

Don't see a reference to a Parchment or Beige for the W123, but see a Bamboo for leather.

From the numbers, I would say codes 104, 134, and 154 were variations of the same color, and 105, 135, and 155 are variations of a different color. I would say you are safe to say you have Cream interior pertaining to the 1983 to 1985 years of the W123, but it may not be an identical color to earlier models. Other body styles might have used different names for the colors, or different variations of the color. I would say what it says in the EPC is gospel.

Date would be Palomino. Our 81 wagon had Palomino and the 83 300D is Palomino as well. Since the wagon was 81, it's the "date", like what I mentioned above that Palomino started with 134 and then became 154 for the later models.

the chances that anyones monitor here is actually producing the correct color is minimal. Just get a sample.

I was just saying, his location is Alabama, so why are we even bothering with the russian site? Alabama is in the US.

Rashakor 02-23-2007 10:36 PM

the codes on the russian site are not the codes for russia only. They are the code for the world.
Mbeige has posted a MB color table with the real names and not the marketing names from MBUSA.

The car is in Alabama... but if you order a hide from germany, they're going to look at you funny if you ask for Cream, or Palomino. Ask me how do I know...

Not to beat this thing to death, and knowing European color names can be useful, but most people in the US order parts in the US.

Yes he did post with real names, and in the one line is Palomino, Creme, and Creme Beige. If they look at you funny for ordering according to their names, I'd buy a cover elsewhere.

Anyway, Rash, I'm not going to argue further. I'll buy the next round and quietly disagree with you. :beerchug:
