That price is about in line with what I thought it would be. Nice car.

Great car, but that price is insane.

What is it about these wagons and the rear seat head rests? Does PO remove them and then toss them in the garbage can?

That's a couple hundred $$ just to track down a decent pair that matches the interior color. I paid $150 for mine.

No 3rd row either.

I'm leery of cars with triangle marks on the interior carpet.

Never believe flea-bay pricing. There is so much shill bidding going on I'm surprised somebody hasn't gone to jail.

I tried to buy a BMW on ebay that was listed by a local dealer. To make a long story short, they had shills running up the price. I gathered all the data that showed what was happening (same bidders over and over again) and I sent it to Flea-bay.

In the end, they said they warned them, but that was it. They're still doing it today but with a crew of bidders that are rotated more often.

Why, I bet that car would sell for at least $16K on a lot with 57K miles.

Does seem pricey for a W124 Wagon even is good shape. This one isn't concours and the maintenance provenance is not very heavily documented. For my interest to be piqued on a post 1985 diesel it would have to be pristine, kid-glove condition with 100% provenance.

I 'll bet the owner will be listing this item on ebay again...high bidder has no history.

I also wouldn't be interested in any W124, but the price didn't seem out of line for a decent driver. These are not really collectible, we are just talking about a good low mileage used car (the kind of thing I'm probably going to end up buying for my 16 year old).

I know what you mean. I put my son in a 240D for three years and he got to know that thing inside and out. They are a little slow on the take off but super safe, really easy to maintain, and he loved the fuel economy.

I've though about getting a 240D for my daughter too, but I would hate to see a good one get beat up by a new driver. I wouldn't feel as bad if she trashed a W124 or W201, and they have air bags. I'm still avoiding the issue, but it's just a matter of time.

My wagon had the 3rd seat, so it had 3 headrests, but I'm wondering if the 2-seat version didn't have headrests as standard?

It's a tex-interior car, I don't see any options, maybe it didn't come with head-restraints for the middle seat.

Still, I'd love to have it. Not a perfect car with some paint scratches and interior problems, but I like the colors and miles. You'd think there'd be at least one engine photo though, I'm kind of used to those. I'm watching the auction just out of curiosity.

Original California ?????

The license plates in California are sequential. The license plates on the subject car were issued approximately 1 year ago.

The only two reasons I can think of to get new plates is either it was brought in from out of state or it was in an accident and one of the plates was damaged.

Buyer beware

seems like a carfax would give details on either of these scenarios. if the buyer didnt run a carfax then they would be taking a huge risk on a 16K car

Wow, that means my 'new' 82 SD with 65k original miles might fetch enough to get my dog outta the pound.
