Burnt out headlights

Can anyone give me some help? I have a 1982 300 sd and I have a reoccurring problem with my low beam headlights burning out. I have been through 3 sets in 1 year and I have used cheap one, and 2 different high end seal beams and I am still having the same problem. Both bulbs seem to burn out within about a week of each other. I have had the alternator tested by 2 different rebuild shops and both say that it if functioning normally. I don't have trouble with any other bulbs or electrical equipment. Can I prevent this?
Thanks
Corey

Have you checked the voltage in the car with a voltmeter? Make sure its not over 14.1v or so. I'd also inspect the headlight assemblies, make sure all the contacts are clean and that there's nothing that could be shorting or doing damage to the headlights. Those sealed beams should last a long time, my old not so great ones lasted years of a lot of night driving, they actually still worked up till a couple weeks ago when I took them out and put in some "ultra blue" upgrade lamps, huuuge improvement.
