300SD Leaks Oil Even After Pan Change

Ok so I was leaving oil spills everywhere I went, appeard to be leaking out of the oil pan gasket area. So I got a new pan\gasket, and the leak has gotten a lot better, but still drips (not from the pan). I have an HOA who fines me for my leaks on the pavement. Is there anything I can do to stop this dripping, such as oil additives (currently using 15-40) to help? Its not comming from the pan, but just about everywhere else - all the way back almost to the transmission drain (but no transmission fluid leaking).

Has anyone else been in this position? Im looking for ideas. I may have to start bringing a big piece of cardboard around with me everywhere I drive, and put it down after parking

They can leak from all kinds of places and it can be difficult to fix or find all the places, I'd go with the cardboard idea...

Agree with pawoSD, MANY places to leak from. Cam cover, front crank seal among more frequent locations.

Get under there and clean it all up, then see where it is leaking from. My guess is the turbo oil drain.

Turbo oil drain is right, thats a common place for it to leak a rather significant amount of oil....quick and easy fix is to get a tube of High Temperature Silicon Sealant + a can of brake cleaner and some rags, clean the area so its spotless, then seal it up real good with the sealant, let it sit for a day or so, and it will be ready to go, and never leak again, mine hasn't! This is a pic of what mine looked like after I did the goop-fix, cost about $6

Ditto.....turbo oil drain

However, mine leaked around the o-ring in the middle connection. There are several posts here about how to remove and reseal the turbo drain.

Great info! Oil drain from the turbo very well may be it, because it looks like its commin out of where the drain bolt is, but its a new pan/washer/bolt so I know its not. Ill give it a try this weekend. Now if only there were such a simple answer for my ac problem..... lol.

When my turbo drain was leaking it looked like the pan gasket at first. Replacing the drain seals is a bit of a pain, but can be done in a few hours.

I agree this should be your first step. I would spray and soak really good all greasy areas (top and bottom) with a degreaser and then pressure wash the engine bay. You may have to do it a few times. If you don't have access to a pressure washer, I would go to those self pressure spay car washes and wash it there. Once you have the engine clean, you WILL see where the leaks are coming from. Then you can decide on how to proceed to make the repairs.

I've contained most of the leaks on my SD and the SDL, just replacing the gaskets and mains. Hell, you'd be out maybe $35 for them all.
