I found an 84 300d turbo I'm interested in. 220Kplus miles (odometer doesn't work), Windows and locks work, as does heater and tachometer. Starts and drives. Not working: dash lights, AC, sunroof.

Body and interior are in decent condition. Bunch of spare parts included. Tires decent, too.

Asking $2500. Are the items that aren't working expensive--or signs of trouble? Is the price reasonable? (I only have ebay to judge, and it's all over the map).

Some guidance from the veterans would be appreciated!

Where are you located? For $2500, I'd hold out for one with no rust, but that's just me. I would rather fix mechanical things than deal with bodywork. If you can see rust on the car, there's bound to be LOTS more you can't see. $2500 should buy you a pretty nice car, I'd think. Maybe keep an eye on the classifieds here.

dash lights are a cheap and easy fix, ac could be a number of things either easy or hard, but more of a pain in the ass
the sunroof could be either the motor is gone, the sliders need grease, or the clutch belt needs tightening.
Sound like a good bu, just watch for rust and look for maintnence records!
