(newbie) Think I found my first 300d, but...
I found an 84 300d turbo I'm interested in. 220Kplus miles (odometer doesn't work), Windows and locks work, as does heater and tachometer. Starts and drives. Not working: dash lights, AC, sunroof.
Body and interior are in decent condition. Bunch of spare parts included. Tires decent, too. Asking $2500. Are the items that aren't working expensive--or signs of trouble? Is the price reasonable? (I only have ebay to judge, and it's all over the map). Some guidance from the veterans would be appreciated! |

Where are you located? For $2500, I'd hold out for one with no rust, but that's just me. I would rather fix mechanical things than deal with bodywork. If you can see rust on the car, there's bound to be LOTS more you can't see. $2500 should buy you a pretty nice car, I'd think. Maybe keep an eye on the classifieds here.

dash lights are a cheap and easy fix, ac could be a number of things either easy or hard, but more of a pain in the ass
the sunroof could be either the motor is gone, the sliders need grease, or the clutch belt needs tightening. Sound like a good bu, just watch for rust and look for maintnence records!
