YIKES!!!!! $18 Grand...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-MERCEDES-300-TDT-DIESEL-WAGON-58-232-MILES_W0QQitemZ180090559920QQihZ008QQcategoryZ6330QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I'd think the fellow would at least clean the oil off the valve cover anyways!

Oh well, good luck to him! Just keeps the price of ours high if he gets anywhere near it.

OOPS! Didn't realize there already was a thread on this! Sorry guys for taking up space!

Mine looks every bit that nice, just with 240k miles. But with my rebuilt trans, and awesome -6 F starting ability compression in mine, I think I can see maybe a 2k premium for his low mileage. Anyone want to give me $16k for my 300?

"The article explains that in 1998 the car was caught in a freak El Nino flood, and the insurance company had the engine replaced by Mercedes Benz, at that time."

It's a FLOOD CAR and he simply forgot to mention that?

Not trying to defend this guy or anything but that hydraulic oil level would correspond with right between the marks on the dipstick, and whats wrong with green coolant?

Sure, I'd take it, too. The hell if I'd pay 30 grand for it, though.

I did some figuring.....
1984 190D 5-speed (probably just as rare and better made) - $22,000
1984 190D 5-speed (not as nice as first)- $12,000
1997 E300D - (ok, not as big as a 350, but less likely to bend a rod) -$15,000
1980 300TD - (holds more stuff, must be at least worth something) - $10,000
1983 240D - (?, must have some redeeming value) - $7,000

By my calculations, I have $66,000 worth of Mercedes in the driveway. Cool! I think I'll sell 'em and buy some Chinese stocks.

Judging by responses posted here it seems that there are many people who think the 350 SD is like earlier diesels or E class diesels. It is not at all like those cars.
No of course not, they know that the 350 just bends
its rods and cost you big bucks to fix.

Louis.
