Coolant temp measurement
Where in the coolant system does the temp get monitored? I just had the water pump and heat gasket replaced and now I am getting much more cabin heat from the CC than before. The water pump blades were destroyed and I am thinking it's been bad for a while now.
Also - how do you get to the front fender side marker lights to change the bulb? I don't think this car has ever had all its lights working at the same time.

I would imagine individual models and years would be different.

1) If your temperature guage is roughly one or two needle widths above the 80 mark you are fine. More heat is probably from the now proper circulation of coolant.
2) Front side marker lights. I assume you mean how do you get to the turn signal lights. The housing pops out in the forward direction. There is a plastic clip that you squeeze. Eyeball in the engine compartment in the area of the rear of the housing . Squeeze to release and press forward. If it has been in there all these years it may require some force. After you get it out it will be clear. Now that I think about it. You may be able to simply remove the socket from the rear without removing the housing. Normally just a 90 degree twist. I'm fuzzy on this. Steve |

I just replaced my headlights. All you need to do to replace the turn signals is unscrew the one white plastic nut that holds it in. I'm sure it's like the headlights - you don't replace the bulb, you replace the whole thing. The only hard part is if it doesn't go back in tight. There's another white plastic nut that you have to use to adjust it.

No, bad assumption. We are talking about a W124 not a W123. They are absolutely not the same.

Actually guys - my mistake - I've been a member long enough to know better but I forgot - sorry. The car is the W210 '99 E300 Turbodiesel. The light that failed is the little rectangular yellow one on the front fender just aft of the headlights and forward of the tire on the drivers side. How is that light changed?
