holset on 603 for more performance?

I have a used hy9 from my 03 dodge diesel, would this work on my 603? I know I would have to fab some things but that is no problem. Thanks RAY

It will actually LOWER your performance from boost lag. You need to have the fuel turned WAY up (think 200hp) before you should start thinking of a Holset.

Turn up the pump first. And try finding a turbo from a 3.5L 603, that is larger then the turbo on the 3.0L 603.

Here are the procedures for turning up the pump on the 603.

Have you done that mod Ruben? Is it as easy as it sounds and are there no side effects?

havent, but zeitgeist must have had good success with tuning his 603. Last i heard from him he had added propane injection.

I plan on rebuilding the suspension, and upgrading to sportline before i mod the engine. I mean whats the point of engine performance if the car cant take a turn flat?

I did, mine is about 1/2 turn more than stock. I may drop it 1/4 turn as it's overfueled for sure at the 13psi stock. I can see the black smoke belching at full pedal.

I thought about the 3.5 turbocharger, but unless I get a 3.5 for cheap I don't think I'll do it. Don't need the extra lag. Performance is more than adequate with the ALDA cranked totally out (or removed).

I thought about obtaining a turbo off a 3.5L 603 for my franken turbo. I couldn't locate a turbo for cheap. I also couldn't locate a map for the compressor. I'm beginning to think that the 55 trim map wasn't made available by Garrett because it was very good ( Lotus used a 55 trim T3 turbo for several years ).

Well I haven't even messed with the ALDA, which I think is out of adjustment anyway. I don't want to remove it or tweak it too far beyond how it would of been when new. Right now, mine is awfully slow from a stop, but after a couple seconds it turns into a diesel powered rocket (well not exactly, but to me it's very fast).

I plan to bring my SDL, you can drive it around if you want.
