I've heard the smaller O-ring is needed on the '95 E300 fuel filter bolt...

From the looks of the pre-filter fuel line I would agree with Scott that it looks noticably older than the others, and if loose and wobbly as you said, is more than likely the source of air entering the system.

For future reference, the o-ring sizes are posted here for the "typical" fuel line and for the shut off valve.

I recently pulled all of mine and replaced the standard buna rubber orings with vitton orings that are said to hold up better.

BTW, save the old fuel line to the prefilter. It can be cut in half and used to set up a temporary fuel tank if you wish to do a diesel purge in the future. Having that extra line makes that job extremely easy.

That's what I'm thinking too. I've got a full set of those clear lines and O rings on order and they should arrive today or tomorrow. I'll get them swapped into place and report back, but I'm thinking that'll solve it.

I've used mcmaster.com for viton hoses for injector return lines on my VW TDI, I guess I should also consider these for the E300? Looks like they also have O-rings in viton.

Cool, nice tip! I run can of LM-DP through the VW every 30k miles so I know the procedure well.

Does anyone on this board have a list of all the Fuel filters that need to be replaced on a 1997 E300D? It would also help if there was a list of all the O rings that also need to be replaced and if they should be purchased separately. Common sense would say that when replacing a fuel filter or line that the correct Oring would be included but this is not always the case and it would be nice to have all these intangeables on a so called checklist. With all the DIY's on this forum I would venture to guess that someone has done this already

Lastly does anyone know what usually goes bad with the window regulators on the 210 vehicles? I can hear the motor but it does not drive the window. I will need to address this since nice weather is coming our way.
