6. All of these “older” diesel Benzes have another added benefit.

From now on I won’t use the brake pedal on my Benz

Read this seller’s description at line #6

6. All of these “older” diesel Benzes have another added benefit. If you need to stop the vehicle, in an emergency situation or when exiting a freeway, instead of slamming on the brakes, all you have to do is let your foot off of the accelerator pedal and the vehicle will slowly come to a stop. This saves on brake wear and tear as well as being extra safe on ice or in snow.) You could also stay on a hill in Drive without putting your foot on the brake pedal to keep you still. This car is so much more advanced for its time.

Uh yeah. I notice they are really great engine brakers (yes I have new calipers) but in an emergency situation?

4. These 116’s can run on any “ oily’ fuel. Many of these older diesels are being converted to Bio Diesel fuel and this BENZ has been converted to run on WVO.
Brand? Home-made?

5. I bought this Benz for my Son. I felt that having a vehicle that was known for its safety was a top priority. he didn't like either one of these 116 models, but still wanted to drive a Mercedes, so I bought her a 1985 300SD.

It would seem the sellers child is just as confused as the seller?

someone probably explained the effect of engine braking to this person of not a lot of mechanical sofistication.

for some inexplicable reason he latched onto it as a major selling point.

folks say the darndest things when selling a car.

Why not the other way around... the seller himself being confused about his child?
