Any CAT 3208 experts here
I've got a CAT 3208 in my Wanderlodge and it has a slight oil drip from the oil filters which attach to the cooler/filter assembly on the left front of the engine. There's also a fitting of some kind on the assembly with a cap on it which also has a drip on the bottom. Ran across another guy with the same drip and neither of us has been even to discover its source? Any wisdom out there?

You have a drip of oil from a diesel? Perhaps Cat had some Detroit Diesel folks make your 3208.

Some people have suggested I just paint it green, then the leak wouldn't bother me.

I believe the fitting to be a plug.
Are you sure the leak isn't the valve-cover gasket? Leaks on my 3208s were always the valve-cover gasket, and you can get to all of the left-bank ones with the doghouse in.

Definitely no oil above the level of the cooler. Three people on Yahoo Wanderlodge group have posted they have the same leak. Odd.

All the Cat's I've ever worked with have had oil cooler leaks (inline and V). I don't know what it is about Cats that makes them do it.

Yellow paint leaks less than green paint but red paint leaks like a sieve.......and, not to be disparaging, but...the 3208 is a 'use it, sling it' engine....run about 30000 hours and your done...mostly.
Had them in the UK for construction trucks and equipment, only the Detroits we couldn't stop leaking. There's a fuel adjustment screw on the i.p if you have feeling of low power. The filters didn't leak IIRC but the valve covers would. The Gardener and Roll Royce Eagle engines where too loud...the Leylands leaked everything and the Bedfords eat up liners....when we changed to Scania and Volvo, I got to sit around a lot more . .

Sieves don't leak, they're supposed to do that.

That was a Metaphor.....Know what a metaphor is ? So the taxi driver knows how much to charge !
Wikipeidia def: '' In metaphor and simile, sieve may often be used to refer to things that are leaky, as a sieve used for a bowl." .
