The 300SEL 6.3
The Ronin car was not a 6.9 it was a vanilla 450SEL!

I actually think the 6.9 and the 6.3 are only icons because they were the lesser forms of the 600. Now that is an icon!!! not the 2 sleepers above!

a 600 LWB is a car that would be recognised by 90% of the population as such!!! a 6.3 or a 6.9 just look like any other vanilla W109 or W116 (i know i drive a 300SD!!!) and would never turn heads as a 600 or a Gullwing.

BMW does not have anything of that... for 99% of people all BMW look the same... or worse they get compared or even defined as the MBZ of the same size (my wife does that mistake quite often:
-Oh look! that's one of those E-class...
-no dear that's is a serie 5!
-Nice SL!
-no dear that's a serie 6 cabrio!
-weird looking S-class...
-no dear that's a serie 7!

)

OK- whatever it was it had a 6.9 badge. The image I posted although small reveals this. However didn't the 6.9s have a limited-slip, and if so why is there only one tire smoking?

Watch the video. It's definitely a 6.9.

Plus you watch the commentary and the director will talk about the car and how it's one of his favorites...

I stand corrected.

Heretics! Blasphemous Hollywood, wrecking a classic such as the 6.9...
(note the term classic and not icon...)
Now a funny thing is that I actually never saw before a 6.9 with the entire badging 450SEL....6.9. All the ones i have seen were unbadged or just had the 6.9.

I could actually now make a similar comment about the movie "the transporter"...

Nice serie 7 BMW! an instant classic but not an icon.

Rocky III

Does anyone know what MB was in Rocky III, when his plane lands in Siberia, and he and his entourage gets picked up..There are two different models, but I think they are similar to this 6.9 model....
