When to change from winter air

When do you change from winter to summer air in the tires. It is starting to get pretty warm down here but it's still only the begining of March. Will leaving the winter air in till say May hurt anything?

If you get your tires fillled up with nitrogen, you don't need to change from winter to summer air.:scholar:

I hear someone has some tanks of liquid nitrogen in their 124... pm him to protect your tires.

Yeah,,,

He has them tanks in his car so he can go all over to forum members and changout the winter air with nitrogen.

If you spend the few extra bucks for synthetic air, you can skip changing the air for at least a year. Well worth the money.

Yes they do! There are a lot of independant dealers of synth air down here. Just look for an older person with a green metal bottle and some clear plastic transfer tubing. A lot of these independants will be in special rolling contraptions with 2 big rear wheels and two small front wheels. At first you'd think it would be good if you were sick or something, but they actually use those to carry the green bottles of synth air around with, cuz they get kinda heavy after a while. A lot of them will give you a free sample w/o having to ask.

Er nitrogen is no joke for tires.

PatricdeBoer 03-07-2007 04:48 PM

I usually change my tire air the same time I do an full front end allignment on my motorcycle.

Yup, I filled up everybody's tires at the GTG last weekend. They loved it.

rrgrassi 03-07-2007 05:21 PM

I like to keep summer air in year round since summer air does not cause low air pressure like the cold winter air. In summer, I just top it off since there is no need to change it, and the valve acts as a filter, so it's good to go each time!

I do change the summer air when it's time to change tires.
