Odd vacuum issue

I'm having a vacuum issue with my doors. Not a big deal but I think there is a symtom that is somewhat odd. When the car has been sitting over night, before I start the car. the auto door locks will work. both lock and unlock. But when I'm out running errands, if the car sits for say than more than 20 minutes or so. the doors do not unlock. They will not auto unlock until the car has been running for a minute or so. I do not have a mighty vac and have not done a lot of trouble shooting yet. I did replace all connectors under the hood and the dashpots for both lock and unlock lines. That made the locks work quicker but still does the afore mentioned "thing". I'm thinking maybe check valves in the pump? Any ideas where I should start?

Thanx

u have a leak somewhere, ur car is taking a minute to build up the vacum that is being lost when sitting, this is why the locks will now work after the car has been sitting, ur best bet would be to get a mighty vac and start testing.

OK, I just thought it was odd that it could hold vacuum overnight, but not for 20 minutes when it's been running.

When you turn the car off during the day, do you have the climate control settings in the same place as when you park the car for the evening?
[does your car have the Evil Servo?]

Is it locked overnight and unlocked for the short stops (or the other way around)? You may have a slow leak in either the lock or unlock circuit, just a guess.

yes on evil servo, it does not work. I do not mess with climate settings, (red/blue wheel) just the buttons for "fannage" every now and again. When I do have the fan on I shut it off before turning off the engine. (errands or overnight) When I park for the night it is unlocked sitting in garage. When running errands it is locked.

That sounds like your problem, a leak in the "locked" circuit of the door locks (yellow lines with red stripe), either a connector or an actuator. Time to break out the mighty vac.

A leaking lock actuator is your most probable culprit. They contain rubber diaphragms that tend to crack with age and use.

check the trunk lock and fuel door unit first. easiest to test, and really the most common from what I can tell on here.
Trunk lock diaphragm was bad on my 240.....

**just an fyi**
door vacuum lock part??

My 300D is on the third fuel door actuator (that I know of).
