I'm going to replace my injection pump and was wondering how to bleed the system properly when i bolt it back up.

You can only bleed the fuel in the low pressure section of the system. To bleed any air within the IP requires rotating it.........sometimes for quite awhile........to get the air out.

When the new IP is installed, use the priming pump for about 50 strokes to be sure there is fuel at the IP.

Then, crack all five injector lines and crank the engine with you right foot on the floor. You may need to crank for a bit..........limit the time to 20 seconds or so.........and give the starter a rest for two minutes...........then crank again. Once fuel appears at the hard lines and drips down onto the head, tighten up the five nuts on the injectors and start the engine.

I was told, and it seems right with my 616s, That it takes about 12 seconds of cranking for the fuel to get up to the injectors, which seems like forever sometimes:D
