617 Turbo Proper Idle Speed?

What's the proper idle rpm speed of a 617 turbo? My car hot or cold will idle at around 850 it looks like. Is that high? If so, how do I adjust the speed. I have a new rack damper pin and it holds the engine real smooth seems like. TIA!

There's a sticker under the hood, I believe on my 85 it says proper idle is 650 +/- 50 rpm.

Search the diesel archives on how to adjust it, lotta info.

According to the manual, the correct speed is 700 to 800 rpm. The idle adjustment screw is between the injection pump and the engine. There is a adjustment screw with a lock nut. Use a deep socket to loosen the lock nut and adjust the screw.
