I'm not sure where these pins are and how you remove them?

You may need to use a second wrench to counterhold the pin.

The pads just drop in once the sliding half is off and the piston is pushed back.

Make sure you clean the pad slots and use a very small amount of anitseize on the sides and back of the backing plate (NOT the friction material!).

Make sure the "ear" springs are under the sliding part, not sticking up through, or they will squeak something horrible.

I think the bolts i'm talking about might be the pins you are referring too. do they have a 13mm hex head on them?

They are the pins that go in the holes that you can see towards the center of the caliper in this picture (no hex heads that I can remember):

You must use a wrench on both sides, it's just a smooth pin under the boot, and will spin. The bolt screws into the pin. There are flats on the pin for the wrench, probably a 14 but may be 13 mm.

If the boots are torn, get new ones, else the caliper will stick.

Heave the old ones. New are $2.00 or less.
