two tank conversion for veggie

Hi, I have my car converted to tube in tube with injection line heaters here in Northern California. I want to add a small second tank to start up on bio diesel/and or diesel in the morning. I am going to add a 6.6 gallon tank in the trunk for the bio and use the stock tank for veg. My question is, can I just run the new fuel line from the trunk all the way up to the ip and use a manual gate valve versus a electric switching valve for start up? Will IP pull fuel from tank easy enough? Any thoughts? Thank you!

Yes you can use manual valves. But you need to deal with switching the injection pump return and the injector return lines too.

Don't put veg in a steel tank

Go to vegistroke.com to see why not to put veg in a steel tank (polymerization). http://www.vegistroke.com/Polymerization.html

Good luck

you *could* ofcourse use manual valves...but that would be a pain. You would have to stop, open hood, turn valve, close hood, get back in drive, then repeat all that before shut down.

Buy the 2 valves from frybrid, they are $75 ea hydra-force. Very good.

I even swear by their electronic controller where all I do is press 1 button to purge and it handles all the rest.

Im even thinking about installing a 3rd electro valve for my looped return so it releases any air bubbles back to tank upon purge. That may be overkill.

Anyways, just depends on how much time you want to spend switching over. Personally, I think a manual would get old pretty quick...

As for questions about IP drawing from tank - on dino it should have no problems. You may need to change out main fuel filter since it will be pulling thru instead of pushing. Ive found my 124 stalls on dino once tank gets lower than 1/4. A primer pump would never hurt, but if you IP is in good shape you should be OK.
