Cleaning Pistons

Hi
I want to clean carbon of some pistons, would soaking in biodiesel do the trick or would this damage them. The piston are from a 300D. Thanks

Best bet would be to take them to a machine shop or a good mechanics shop and get them ultrasonically cleaned.

Get them "glass beaded", machine shop and most engine shops have a beader

hawthorne,

Try Laundry Detergent. I found it works better than solvents in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Carb cleaner. The type you soak carbs in not spray on. It easily removes carbon and wont hurt aluminum. Water clean up.

interesting..Good to know!

Also, I find the large containers of carb clean Really do the trick when you let X part sit in them overnight.
