setting "up" the injector pump?

I have seen several 240D cars that have been advertised around the US, stating that they have had the injector pump "set up". I have a couple of questions about this. What exactly are they doing to the IP? Are they doing this (1) to make the car able to be driven at higher speeds, such as 70-75 mph instead of 60-65 mph. and/or (2) to compensate for stretch in the timing chain?
thanks,
Jim

Increasing the fuel available I believe. I too wonder what the effect would be like but of course would probably generate some more black smoke on heavy accelleration. More than before that is.
Will not reduce the cruise at speed noise at all on the 240d though in my opinion. Will perhaps pick up the top end a little if engine was not reaching it's govenors at the lower fuel rate.

I know on our farm tractors, the local dealership can increase the IP, and that results in a little bit more HP for us. They will only do this on older tractors that are out of warranty.
