Quick Glow Plug Question
Preparing to replace some questionable glow plugs in my OM617 this weekend.
Are there any crush washers or seal rings that I need? The plug has a tapered end, and that may be all that's necessary, but I want to have everthing I need on hand before I pull the old ones. Thanks,

No washers or anything. Just make sure you have some anti-seize on hand to put on the new GP threads before installing.

I'd advise removing the injector lines, this will make the task VERY easy.

Ditto on the injector line removal. It'll take about as long to fiddle with getting to the plugs with the lines in place as it will to just remove them then get to the plugs. Removing the lines makes the job so much easier and less stressful. Make sure you hang on to the nuts that secure the electrical lines to the tip of the plug because they like to take a dive behind the ip, never to be seen again. No washers on the plugs but do use anti-seize. It makes them so much easier to remove.

When replacing all GP's in the SD, I did not remove lines. The only thing I got mostly out of the way, was the throttle rod at firewall, by unscrewing at FW and removing clip at other end. Also moving hose near oil filter housing. I used stubby gear wrenches as well. No washers, did not ream, and didn't think to use antiseize.
