Question Can I remove Aux. fan with A/C removal?

Hello All

Previous thread on A/C removal got me thinking. I am in the process of pulling the engine out of a '80 240D donor car to put in my '79 keeper. Both cars had their A/C compressors removed before I got them, but the rest of teh gear is still there. I plan on removing the rest of the A/C gear on the '79 including the condenser. Can I also leave the auxillary fan that is in front of the condenser off? Is it there to help with A/C operation or is it necessary for the engine cooling system?

I really appreciate the expertise on this board and the helpfulness of the members.

Thanks

Sedecrem

Without the A/C system, the aux fan will never operate.
