New or not?

Has anyone recently purchased a new vacuum pump from, for example, FastLane, and verified that it is (is not) the "new" style with the covered bearing? I don't want to spend $300-400 and get the pump only to discover that it's not the "new" new one.

Jeremy

I bought mine more than a year ago from MB and it was the new style. The price was comparable to what anyone else was quoting.

If you go to the dealer and run the part number you will find that MB did about five updates to this pump. I bought mine in 2004 and it was the latest and greatest.
