Windows blow fuses, probable cause?
What is the most likely cause of the RF and LR windows blowing fuses? I have a new to me 124 with these window problems. I have checked/cleaned the switches and they are ok. Where should I start looking? I tried both windows so I don't know which one blew the fuse, I guess I could start there? I should also mention that the drivers window works properly, the RR only makes a click when the button is pushed. Car has sat for two years.

wires are probably contacting each other causing it to arc and such... Check the wires

Try changing the switches first. Just use the ones that do work. If that doesn't do it then check the wires. The ones in the rubber boot going from the car to the rear door. Take the panel off the door disconnect the rubber boot, don't cut it. You will probalby find the insulation worn away and the wires arching. That's where mine were broken.

i was having the same exact symptons, i just replaced about 5 fuses and it went away, im assuming the wires were arcing through the door...

I've stitched all the switches
with the drivers window and they all made it work, I'll figure out which window is blowing the fuse then look for bad wires to that window.

For some reason it's usually the rear one on the drivers side.
