tail turn & brake lights

I just got a 300sd
one of the tail lights work and other one shows 3 volts
no rear turn flashers but the fronts one work and no brake lights eathor
where are the common voltage drop or short areas
and whats the pin out on the 6 pin connections [they look good and bright]
I would think bad grounds BUT the one light works fine
fuses look and read good too
I have a good digital VOM

replace all the bulbs, over time the connectors get oxidized and u need to clean them with contact cleaner. If the tail light assembely is bad, pull one from a scrap yard.

Have you swapped out the bulbs? Make sure it has the proper bulbs, not 1157 type.

Brown is the ground colored wires. Check the fuses for clean contacts, and also check the headlight switch.

Did some one try to do and LED conversion? There may be a resistor wired in some where, as LED's like 3-5 volts.

Check all the wiring for continuity and resistance. Resistance = heat. Heat = possible wire meltdown.

all had normal glass bulbs in it
they were old and poor looking [burned glass]
so replacemint was first step but only one is lit [ the one tail reads 12volts]
others are zero excpt the one that reads 3 volts [the right tail light]

head lights parking and turns all work on the front end
problem is between fuse out and rear pannel

I used sylvania #7506 for the bigger ones and # 67 for the smaller ones

wiggled fuses and checked volts there 12 volts so ok there
drop is somewhere else,[ where? ]

Could be the PO got a little wire cutter happy, or some errant rodent decided to chew. You will need to trace the wires.
