I need drivers sunvisor part - 87 300D turbo

the drivers side sunvisor has busted swivel clip - im talkin about the one that is actualy part of sunvisor, closest to drivers window.

dealer says you can buy the swivel clip seperately, and new visor is $160.

Anybody got visor in tan? Or just the little clip Im talkin about?

heres a pic of the dumbass part

Im loosing major style points when puling into valet and drivers sunvisor drops off headliner unto lap...

The car is 87 300D turbo, beige/tan looking int. Thanks

Paul

Mines broken too, seems like a common failure on the W124. Luckily for me mine just about makes it all the way to the fully-up position, never really gets in the way.

If you find a source for that part, I'd like to be in on that deal

I just picked one (entire visor) up used here in Austin, TX at:

German Star Motors
809 McPhaul
836-6191

I needed the passanger side, so Justin, maybe the guy still has the driver's side. It was tan color, out of a 124 TD wagon.

I paid $40. At the time I was shocked by what I considered a high price, but compared to buying new, I guess I got a deal.

Look for a 201 body, I've lined the visors up side-by-side and they're identical.

I need to bring my car back in to the shop, which is in that part of town, at some point soon. Normally, my travels don't take me anywhere near that part of town.

When I'm ready to go, I'll try to remember to email you to see if you found one yet. If you send me an email, that might help me remember.

Dan

What shop do you go to? I used to go to German Star a lot more than I do now. I know the wagon you bought that off of, got a lot of cool stuff from it. It's sad to see a running/driving wagon being parted out just because of some right-front fender damage. It was supposed to be repaired and sold.

I've just started going to ********, which is on Sagebrush, off N. Lamar. They seem to have the best reputation of the Benz repair shops in Austin. I used to go to JP's repair, and might go back there again under the right circumstances. The guy there seems flexible about customers bringing their own parts; he also has his own used parts, and he would work on my WVO system if need be.

******** offers a free 21 point inspection and $15 off for first time customers, so I thought I'd give it a try. They had good customer service, and didn't screw anything up too bad. So, I'll probably go there again, even though the location is out of my way.

Justin, have you ever been to Phoenix Automotive, downtown? That's the most convenient location for me, but I don't know if they are any good.

Haven't been to Phoenix, but was hearing some good things about that shop from some Austin folks at the last GTG we just had. I've been going to Austin ******** since I bought an 80 300TD, and I actually bought my 87 300TD through them too. They also rebuilt the transmission recently. Thumbs up work.
