VIN question

I tried to enter my VIN # on the MB Russian site and it said that it could not be found in their database! They stated several reasons why it could be. Of course I re-entered the number and still no paydirt. So I go out to the garage and go thru the numbers on the VIN tag and I WAS entering the correct number!

UH-H-H...now what? Any ideas? Thanks

I have the identical prolem with an 83 300DT, VIN WDBAB33A4DB030597 does not show up on any EPC, the Russian site on the MB site EPC.

I might try a one month subscription on the MB site EPC for WORLDWIDE vehicles at $3.60 a month, althougn I believe the 617.952 was only made for the US market.

One option or feature my car supposedly came with was a "546 roller blind in luggage compartment" now this is puzzeling me as my car is NOT a wagon! Am I misunderstanding something here? Also, it has a line item "805 change of model year"? Does anybody know what "876 rear door contacts" are?

See, I get all this information and NOW I'm all confuZZed!!!

The "change of model year" code relates to the model year of the car. The last digit is what seems to matter...your car is an 85, so the last digit is 5. My car is a 90, so the last digit is 0, with a code of 800.

if you want you can drill two holes on both sides of the broken piece and rivet it to where it used to be or on top of the front speaker grille on the driver side.

contacts

Rear contacts are in reference to the rear doors, activating the rear dome lamp.
