Used MMO as purge....

Dont bother wastng your money. Car ran great on it, returned to same old nailing afterwards. Ran 2 quarts through running WOT up hills.

Then your car has other issues that MMO nor DP will not resolve. Get your injectors tested.

Well of course. I wasnt asking for assistance. Someone had commented on using MMO and I just wanted to post my results.

However, you did state quite provocatively, "Don't bother wasting your money" directing your statement to the entire board creating an entirely new thread in the process. Given that others have tried this and reported good results, creating a thread specifically to slam the product (and in effect indirectly insult those fellow forum members) wasn't really necessary. That's how things may be perceived in a text-based environment.

I'm sorry it did not work out for you, winmutt. But that does not mean it will not work for anyone else.

Then it does indeed produce similar results to DP. It's common to do a purge, and whilst purging marvel at the smoothness, only to return to nailing when the fuel lines are reattached. Did the fluid return dark and murky a la DP?

It worked great for me, the returned fluid in my bottle was quite murky afterwards. I admit I need to have my injectors rebuilt, but it made a definite improvement in power and acceleration. Well worth $3.49 in my opinion. It made lots of smoke when running it off the MMO.

I'm using a 6 ozs cut of MMO in the tank ( 20 gal) to help
decarbon one or more prechanbers " the hard way". It certainly seems to be helping ( although the car smokes on acceleration now).

There is no replacement for pulling injectors and having them tested or building your own tester. I pulled two of mine since this and replaced them with injectors that I had cleaned but not rebuilt. The major nailing issues stopped. This last weekend I measured the IP timing and it is off atleast 8-10 maybe more i was in a rush. I have also gotten everything but the grease gun to build my own injector tester. If I can solve the performance issues I will go the next step and replace the PC's as well since the atomizers are gone on atleast 2 of the PC I checked.

Buddy, pulling injectors is child's play, its done, new nozzles, all tested. SHOULD AHVE physically checked the prechambers when I had them out, adn did a compression test. ( it was my first time in a diesel and I didnt even know it had PC's!)

Either have a bad prechamber OR one inj out of time at the IP. Assume its #1 since I can get the engine to run very well at times. The MMO, while the first "snake oil" ive tried, was an attempt at NOT messing with a 222K motor where the timing chains are perfect etc. Also using the car as a daily right now - I love it!

Engine has a occasional miss, like a bad plug wire. Its not inj's.

So the MMO is a "Hail Mary" attempt until the car is off the road in the 6 inches of snow we'll have eventually and I can do it right.

Of course, so far, a few more tankfuls of MMO and I may not have to do anything. ( still pulling the Injs for a visual on the pre's and a compression test.) PCs on the 606 aint easy, it seems from my research, as it's likely you'll break one or more GPs ( which I assume need to come out before the PC's). I'll pull the head and do it right. Check the pistons tops, cam lobes and have the valve job freshened.

OR I'll run a few more tankfuls of MMO and try and get the PC's cleaned up some.

MMO and a prayer, eh!? I'm trying to beg/borrow/steal some bioD,a s I think it will help clear up the PC issues as well.

I'd like that without turning a wrench!!

Did you run DP through it for comparison before pulling the injectors? It would be interesting to know if DP would have (temporarily) solved this engine's problems.

How do you "visually" inspect a PC withour removing the head? I'm new to this part of my engine...
