I saw that the other day... Is this really only something offered grey market?

The w115 chassis 220 D was a US market car (68 – 73), in that sense it is not rare. How many are left is another matter.

The 5 speed is the rare part. The tranny alone is worth twice the asking price!

So is the intake manifold, intercooler and oil filter housing!

i got this e-mail reply from him:
OK you know about these engines there is a bypass to move the oilfilter forward you can see it just byond the radiator cap in this pic:

Anything else I can answer? I hope that was an answer.

Chuck

EDIT: Wasn't this specific car offered for sale on this forum a long time ago???? It seems very familiar.

Intercooled too? Looks like they did a good job. Wonder why they are leting it got for a song. Very similar to my car's setup, but with a 5 speed and in a diffrent body. If I were to sell that car I would be asking around 8x that price.

I've never seen this car before.

More from the seller. He seems to know very little about it. He may have bought it from the person that posted here in MBShop.

it looks like a problem swap. never finished because of problems very tough to resolve.

i would verify that it is in fact a five speed and buy it for parts only.

then if it turns out you can finish it that should be considered a bonus.

def worth the money for a five speed alone.

I am trying to pick this car up. The seller has returned 1 email, I am waiting for a 2nd. Looks to be a 5 speed but I'd have to tow it home. I'll let you guys know what is up.
