Top ten reasons why my diesel won't start (or hard start)

10) It's too cold outside
9) Bad (old) fuel
8) Valve Adjustment
7) fuel filters are clogged
6) didn't wait for GP light to turn off
5) GP's burned out
4) Battery Low
3) Starter Bad
2) Corrosion in wiring
1) Don't have a key

Anyone else?

Too heavy non-synthetic oil in it. Granted, the starter might be a bit weak, but the synthetic 5W40 made all the difference in the world in the cold.

Who has actually had a diesel that refused to start due to bad fuel?
I can't recall an instance on this forum where that turned out to be the problem.
