These cars are tough...they can take it. No big deal as long as you dont do it at every stop light.

Best thing to do is get a real beater of a car, maybe with some power too (maybe a crappy ole fox body mustang) and get it all out of your system so you don't put too much wear on the Merc.

A rental car with full coverage might be a good idea as suggested. A 240D's power is nothing to gloat about.

I still do not know why people do not understand. The engine designer of the 240d was either spaced out on drugs or he designed the engine for use on the moon. Whenever they got paved roads there that is.
With the reduced gravity and low if any air resistance it would run like a corvette .
There is also a line that might eventually appear if I ever vend one of my 240d powerhouses on ebay. This 240d goes 150 mph and gets 60 MPG on the moon. Just a tad less on earth.
I guess the 240d still waits for the future. If you ever see a cloud of smoke on the moon it just might be a 240 warming up the rear tires. . Anyone know where I can get one of those hydralic valves to lock up the front brakes on a 240d?
All in fun gentleman. If the 240ds had more power they perhaps would have less character. Remember these cars almost do dominate one end of the automotive speed and performance spectrum already.
