Well this is kind of in conjunction with my oil leak problems, but examining the oil stains closely on the newspapers caused somequestions in my mind. The oil looks as if it has combined with something, its real dark in the center of the stain but then as it goes out it gets lighter and lighter till it dissapears. Could this be the water condensation from the a/c compressor? Also, when i am looking right at the exhaust in certain light i can see smoke coming out of the tail, its not a terrible lot but it is a decent amount, more then i'm used to with unleadeds. is that normal? i appreciate all the help,i'm new to deisels so everything is soooo differant. Its like working on an entirely differant car!
thanks R |

You have discovered the basic principle of chromatography! With the proper setup you could tell exactly what was in your oil.
